It might sound crazy but more and more people are getting all their Christmas shopping out of the way as soon as they can. Contrary to popular belief, not all Christmas shopping happens like in the movie Serendipity. Why go through all that trouble the week before Christmas going against mothers who would mercilessly pulverize anyone in their way to get their hands on the last Nintendo Wii set on the display shelf for their sweet child waiting eagerly at home. And its not just crazy parents you have to deal with. You might also have to face moody sales staff who have to tolerate the seemingly endless line of last minute shoppers who keep wanting to know why their favorite sweater does not come in their favorite beige shade of cosmic latte.

Why not keep your sanity and your physical well being intact and shop in the off season instead. You can take your time browsing through isles that are not packed with shoppers who insist that since they saw the handmade designer handbag first in the catalog two weeks ago from home, therefore it is only logical that they be given the privilege to buy the last one left in the store even though you had already tried it on and was on your way to pay for it.

Not many people are aware that there are sales and bargains for almost everything even though the holidays are no where in sight. Shopping in the off season can save you a lot of money on gifts as well as shrink visits. In addition, you don’t have to worry about items being out of stock as you would have ample time to wait for the new stock to arrive. You would have more choices, better options and greater bargains.

Of course shopping in the off season has its drawbacks. You see, many companies only release their latest products in December to cater to the holiday crowd. Many of these companies are makers of gaming consoles and games. So fans of Nintendo Wii have to wait until December to get their fix. Apparently, waiting a month later to get latest games are akin to fashionistas waiting till next season to get this seasons designer handbag. It would be simply unacceptable. Many husbands feel the same way about the latest skimpy lingerie. Just to make sure we are on the same page, the exotic lingerie is for the wives but in this day and age you can’t be blamed for thinking otherwise.
